Fashion meets Technology

Weighing in at a mere 1.02 kg, the HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam PC series is the whole package!

Striking good looks, feminine charm, and a BRAIN.

I recently had the privilege of test driving this designer mini notebook, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t at first intimidated by the smaller keyboard (92% full size keyboard), but after a while, I got used to it, and began to feel very at home with the absolute style that comes along with it!
Don’t expect to use CD’s or DVD’s on this little machine though… They are SO last season! Flash is the future!

I switched the machine on for the very first time, and my wireless internet connected in 35secs flat without having to push a button or even click the mouse pad!

I put my headphones on, and played some music… (have to check the sound first)

I browsed the internet, checked my Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, Hotmail, and browsed for some things I’d like to add to my wish list. Typed up a few documents, and of course played Solitaire. At this point I had about 20 programs open at the same time (completely normal for me) but the Vivienne Tam kept up! Woman are of course better at multi-tasking! *wink*

It comes standard with:
- Intel® Atom™ processor N270 1.60 GHz, Level 2 cache 512 KB
- Genuine Windows® XP Home Service Pack 3 (32-bit)
- 1024 MB RAM
- 60 GB Hard Drive
- Bluetooth® wireless networking
- 802.11b/g WLAN
- 10.1" High Definition HP LED BrightView Infinity display
- Altec Lansing® speakers
-Microsoft® Works
- Microsoft® Internet Explorer
- Windows Mail
- Adobe® Reader

The best part of all… because it’s such a compact size (16.67 cm x 26.17 cm x 2.52 cm )you ladies that are jetsetters, and are always on the go, no longer have to make those painful sacrifices of leaving behind the hairdryer, GHD, essential cosmetics and your favourite pair of boots to make space for your lump of a notebook!
This Mini Notebook really puts YOU FIRST!

What more could a girl ask for??

hpshop goes green - Press Release

One of the biggest challenges is educating people about their impact on the environment (yes, your carbon footprint!) and what they can do to reduce carbon emission both at home and work. This emanates from the fact in 1997 HP became the first PC manufacturer to operate its own recycling facility and in 2007 saw it reach its goal of 1 billion pounds (roughly around 453592370 kg’s).

hpshop has been an HP Preferred Partner for more than 5 years running and thus has launched a Green Campaign on the 1st of July with an entire range of ENERGY STAR®-rated printers, notebooks, desktops and LCD’s. Each product will have the “I Am Green” stamp, and while browsing the blog and following hpshop’s twitter we will constantly update you on tips for going green.

Just a few facts about HP’s range of products:

• ENERGY STAR®-rated All-in-One printers can save about R1870 in electricity bills over its lifetime.
• ENERGY STAR® estimates that power management can save up to R637.50 per desktop computer and monitor each year.
• HP has developed a notebook that breaks the 24-hour battery-life barrier for continuous operation, an unprecedented milestone in the industry - HP EliteBook 6930p.
• HP 550 Notebooks has a silver EPEAT rating
• HP is first to market in 2009 with the first All-in-One Touch-enabled desktop, which uses 55% less metal and 37% less plastic than standard PCs and monitors.
